If you are an independent grassroots charity based overseas, there is no charge for volunteer placements.

Western-based charities, international charities, social enterprises and for-profit companies are charged a modest administration fee dependent on the duration of the volunteer assignment. For more details please email your enquiry to partners@afid.org.uk or call +44 (0)208 741 7000.

Do we need to cover the volunteers travel & accommodation expenses?

Whilst it is not essential to cover any of the volunteers costs, we encourage all our partners to give serious consideration to providing support of some nature, no matter how small. Volunteers are often on limited budgets and a little support can significantly increase the pool of volunteers available to you. Homestays, airport pick-ups, assistance with lunches, visa applications will all make a difference and be very gratefully received.
