Lok Kalyan Seva Kendra (LKSK) is an Indian Charitable Trust working to safeguard, empower and nurture vulnerable local community members in Jharkhand.
They promote a progressive, peaceful, self-reliant and healthy society through delivering community awareness and capacity building programme, training and equipping people with the knowledge and materials to thrive against various social issues.
Their three main project areas focus on:
- Livelihoods – supporting farmers with resource and seasonal management and facilitating peer support groups
- Child Protection – supporting children at risk of or rescued from trafficking by giving access to education
- Women Empowerment – providing legal advocacy and support and family counselling centres
Alongside these key areas, LKSK are also addressing further community concerns such as water and sanitation, environmental awareness, sexual and reproductive health and rights and TB awareness.
