After 10 years, our NGO partner has grown exponentially and with it so have their ambitions; they need a dynamic Accountant to tutor their new Finance Manager
Start: Oct - Jan Assignment length: 3 months Resources: Accomm., airport pickup
Our partner consists of a series of programmes dedicated to improving the welfare and the livelihoods of local communities across 4 primary areas; Health Education, Agricultural Development, School Support and Skills Enterprising. They have worked tirelessly to see real change implemented within a whole range of villages across the northern district of Malawi and have had a hugely positive influence on the lives of thousands. They will shortly be hiring a new Finance Manager and would very much appreciate a volunteer Accountant to share insights, expertise and generally bring the new manager up to speed on the methods.
If you have a working knowledge of QuickBooks, experience with end of year auditing and a good sense of teamwork then this could prove to be a highly exciting opportunity. Malawi is a truly breath-taking country to see and has some unique beauty that you have to see to believe – which you could do, if you’ve got the drive and desire to help those less fortunate than yourself. The purpose of your assignment will be to ensure that all processes and controls are in place and being operated correctly, however there will also be a training element as you will be responsible for helping other members of staff with their understanding of the processes.
The financial year comes to a close at the end of June; as such someone who could start immediately would be preferred, although ultimately someone with the right kind of skills and the right motivation would be ideal. You will report weekly to the Programme Director, the UK Director and AfID, but there will be also be a close working relationship with the Finance department. Your opinion would be highly valued so any advice you could pass on to the organisation regarding their financial department.
You could escape the daily grind and find yourself on an adventure in one of the most stunning parts of the world; all you need to do is apply! If you have a desire to help and the skills necessary, this could be a life changing experience for you, our partner organisation and of course their beneficiaries.
