Our partner is a Christian-based organisation working to improve the lives of children and the communities affected by the long running conflict in northern Uganda. Broadly the programme divides into two main projects: Education and Community Development, and Health & Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
The partner is quite sizeable with 6 employees working in the finance function. They use a combination of a manual cashbooks and Excel-based accounting system. They are seeking a volunteer firstly to assess their existing accounting processes and controls, making and implementing recommendations aimed at strengthening their internal controls and building the capacity of local staff. Secondly, they are exploring the possibility of moving to a computerised accounting system such as QuickBooks and would like support in this move.
Our partner would like someone for 1-2 months, ideally starting in February. The organization will only be able to contribute towards the accommodation of the volunteer.
